AOL pegs ‘Sopranos’ drama No. 1

Submitted on April 14, 2009 No Comment

Never mind that he’s the mafia don. But his problems are the same any family man would face. At least viewers think so. We’re talking of mafia boss Tony Soprano in the hit TV series. No wonder ‘Sopranos’ catapulted to the top of popularity charts and now AOL editors have pegged it as the ‘Best drama series of all time’!

Sopranos

The New Jersey gangster, in the HBO series, is wholly violent, part charming, part ruthless and so endearing with his ‘regular guy-ness’. This mafia chief even goes to the shrink once a week. It’s just coincidence his job is an out-of-line one, else he would have been your next-door dad trying to juggle wifey, kids and job. The other slots on AOL’s list were taken by ‘NYPD Blue’ (No. 2), ‘The Wire’ (4) and ‘ER’ (5). (The list is available at television.aol.com.)
