Sopranos

Tony Soprano, his mafia gang, his regular family plus the Italian cuisine… there’s something to this series you cannot put your finger on in isolation. It’s the tightly knit storyline, the sets, the acting, the emotion, the drama et al that hooks you. Of course we’ve got someone dying at every 30 second spin, but there’s not one episode in any of the entire six-season series (86 episodes) you’d like to fast forward.

Based on the novel by the same name, the series, directed by David Chase, has spawned video games, music albums and merchandise. James Gandolfini has done his job as the mobster trying to juggle home and family life. It has also won 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes. Haven’t you seen it yet?
